The Celebration of Life service for Randy Lane will be held Wednesday, Nov. 15, from 4-7 p.m. at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Lake City Chapel. A graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017 at Dale Pleasant Prairie Cemetery in rural Zumbro Falls, MN with Pastor Dan Reich of Trinity Lutheran church - Lincoln officiating.

Mr. Randy Joe Lane of Lake City passed away at his home, surrounded by family on Friday. September 29, 2017, at the age of 61.

Randy was born August 21, 1956 in Sioux City, Iowa to Dorothy and Ward Lane. Then moved to MN in 1958. Randy began attending church at Lincoln Lutheran and was later baptized. Later he started attending school in Oak Center, MN until the age of 18. He then went to work at IRC as a leather punch operator. In 1978 he left the tannery and moved to the farm with his parents to help his sister Lois for several years. In 1987 he moved off the farm to Mazeppa, where he helped out at many local businesses. In 1998 he moved to Nebraska with his Mother into his brother Bob's apartments. There he began working on a casino boat, and other places until returning to MN in 2010. Here he moved around some, and found his final home in 2012 at Great River Homes, until the time of his death.

Randy enjoyed his family, bowling, WWE, special Olympics', dances, loved little kids, going out to eat, word find games, his many special friends, and going to the Methodist Church with his sister Pat when in Nebraska.

Randy is survived by his brothers and sisters, Beverly Jurgensmeyer of Vichy, MO. Ronnie Lane of Dakota City, NE, Kay Amundson of Omaha, NE, Bob and (Pat) Lane of Dakota City, NE. Linda (Marty) Franz of Zumbro Falls, MN. Lois (Dave) Michaelson of Lake City, MN. Kathi (Tim Hoffman) Henn of Zumbrota, MN. Many nieces and nephews, and Great nieces, and nephews. Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Ward and Dorothy, brother-in-law's Lee Amundson, and Charles Jurgensmeyer, nephew David Lane, Niece Janet Jurgensmeyer.
