Obituary

Ray A. Pick, a resilient farmer, peacefully departed at the age of 91, on Sunday, November 19, 2023, embraced by his family. Born on September 10, 1932, in Austin, MN, to Mabel (Bailey) and Fayette Pick, he spent his youth in Brownsdale, MN. It was there that he met his lifelong love, Ann (Merritt) Pick, whom he married on September 21, 1952, at his mother's Brownsdale home, celebrating 59 years together.

Ray was a dairy farmer for more than 65 years in the Elgin area. He was very active in the community including, serving on the Swiss Valley Board and Elgin-Millville School Board for several years. He was a member of Autumn Ridge Church formally First Baptist Church.

Ray is leaving behind a legacy of hard work and devotion. His enduring strength, unwavering faith, and quick wit endeared him to all.  Survived by five children, Ray's memory lives on through the fertile fields he tended and the laughter he shared. Children; Cheryl (Jim) Rueda of Mankato, Debra (Tom) Schleusner of Fort Ripley, James (Nancy) Pick of Plainview, Mary (Jay) Laidlaw of Elgin, and Gary Pick of Elgin. Twelve grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren. He is proceeded in death by his parents, his wife, three great grandchildren, three brothers, and two sisters.

A visitation will be held from 12-2:30 p.m. with a service at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 25 at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel with Pastor Karen Foster officiating.  The burial will be in Elgin Cemetery in Elgin MN. Memorials to your preferred choice.
