Rebecca "Becky" Mary Arendt, 70, of Bellechester, passed away at her home on September 1, 2023, with her family by her side. She was born July 25, 1953, in Zumbrota to Louis and Helen (Miller) Richardson. Becky graduated from Mazeppa High School. On July 14, 1973, she married the love of her life Richard Arendt.
In addition to being a homemaker, where she and Rich raised their three children, she worked at Farm Bureau Insurance in Red Wing for many years, and at the Kalass Insurance Agency in Zumbrota for over 20 years. She loved to spend time going up north with family and friends, she also enjoyed working on puzzles, sewing, going fishing, spending time reading, and cooking for her family. Most of all Becky enjoyed attending her kids and grandkids games, she loved to full out support her family.
Becky is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Richard Arendt of Bellechester, their children, Jason (Lori) Arendt of Goodhue, Jamie (Kristin) Arendt of Eagan, and Jeff (Valerie) Arendt of Cary, North Carolina; three grandchildren, Miranda, Austin, and Edythe; a sister, Roberta Truman of Lake City, two brothers, Fred (Jeanette) Richardson of Mazeppa and Keith (Kim Baldwin) Richardson of Lake City; and a sister-in-law, Cindy Richardson of Lake City. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Tom, and Joe.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 11, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bellechester, with Father Thomas McCabe officiating. Burial will follow the service in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery at Bellechester. Friends and family may visit from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 10, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Lake City Chapel and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. A gathering for friends and family will follow the service and burial at the Bellechester Community Center, 101 1st Street, Bellechester, Minnesota.
