Wallace
Jan 9, 1953 — Apr 24, 2021
Robert (Bob) Wallace, age 68, spent his days fishing, hunting, beekeeping, and enjoying time with family in his peaceful rural setting. Born to Beverly and David Wallace on January 9, 1953, he was raised in Worthington, MN where he formed friendships that remain strong to this day. He married his high school sweetheart, Marilyn Koob, and they were together 46 years. Bob and Marilyn raised their three children in Plainview, MN and then made their home in Kellogg, MN. Bob died in his home with family on April 24, 2021.
Bob was a retired Conservation Officer. He served for 28 years with the MN Department of Natural Resources, where strong collegial relationships resulted in countless stories of laughter and camaraderie. His colleagues described him as kind and compassionate, fair, unassuming, and humble, and dedicated to his profession and family.
Upon retirement, Bob continued his lifelong passions of fishing and hunting. He spent time gardening and began keeping bees. Bob enjoyed teaching his grandchildren to fish and passed on his deep appreciation of the outdoors to his family.
Bob is survived by his wife Marilyn; children: Leslie (Aaron) Young, Andy (Meghan) Wallace, and Maggie (Jason) Ricco; five grandchildren: Ty & Tanner Young, Logan & Kira Wallace, and Talia Ricco; and siblings: Scott (Raedelle) Wallace, Jan Gilmore, Mike Wallace, and Patty (Jim) Field.
