Rocco "Rick" Frank Arguto IV, a devoted educator and beloved family man, entered eternal rest with the Lord on December 9, 2024, after a courageous battle with ALS. Born on September 6, 1965, in Stamford, Connecticut, Rick graduated from Stamford Catholic High School in 1983 and pursued higher education at Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska, where he earned a degree in Secondary Education and Coaching. It was there he met his loving wife of 34 years, Pamela.

Rick's life was a testament to his faith and dedication to Christian education. He began his teaching career at Redeemer Lutheran School in Las Vegas, Nevada, and continued in Colorado Springs, Colorado, at Redeemer Lutheran School where he taught and coached girls' basketball. For twenty years, Rick served as a dedicated teacher at Trinity Lutheran School in Pueblo, Colorado, coaching boys and girls in track and field and cross country. Rick also coached girls' basketball at Trinity, leaving a legacy of many championships and fond memories.

In 2020, Rick answered a higher calling to serve as principal at Immanuel Lutheran in Plainview, Minnesota, in 2020, where he worked until his illness in 2023. His mission was to share God's love and prioritize Christian education for families in the community.

Rick is survived by his loving wife, Pamela; daughter, Hannah Jean Giebel, her husband Marcus, and their son Miles of Coon Rapids, Minnesota; son, Rocco Frank Arguto V and his wife Sydney of Denver, Colorado; his brother, Samuel; and his mother and stepfather, Lynn and Wayne Clark.  Rick is preceded in death by his father, Rocco F. Arguto III.

Rick was at his happiest as a father proudly sitting in the stands watching his own children play sports, as young children and in their college years. Volleyball and baseball were an enormous part of Rick's family life.  From playing baseball himself as a child in Connecticut and playing for Concordia to then watching his son succeed in baseball, these were some of Rick's most cherished times.  After watching Hannah play volleyball for years, Rick became interested in officiating and served as a high school volleyball official for ten years in Colorado and for two in Southern Minnesota. Proud isn't a strong enough word to describe Rick's feelings toward his children's success on the field or court and in life, now as wonderful adults.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Mayo Neurology and the many caring providers who gave support for the past year and a half. They thank the ALS Association, especially Moriah Kane, for her support. In Rick's honor, memorials will be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church and School for a new sign on Highway 42 to share the Lord's message with the community. May he rest in peace, embraced by the love of the Lord.

The memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 14, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plainview with Pastor Phil Augustine officiating. Interment will follow the service at Greenwood Cemetery Columbarium. Friends and family may visit on Friday, December 13, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
