Obituary

Roger Albert Ludwig, 86, of Red Wing, MN passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Mayo Clinic Hospital – Rochester, Saint Marys Campus. He was born November 7, 1938, in Buffalo, NY to Albert and Elva (Bernett) Ludwig. Roger attended school in New York State. He was proud to serve his country in the US Army from 1961 – 1967. While in the Army he married the love of his life, Rosalind "Skipper" Tenneson on September 14, 1963, at Chapel #1 at Fort Dix, New Jersey.

After his honorable discharge from the Army, they moved to the Twin Cities area where they lived for over 30 years. Roger was a truck driver and belonged to the Teamsters Union. After retiring they moved to Lake City where Roger worked at Wise Ace Hardware for several years. In 2020 he moved to Red Wing. Roger was a member of the Red Wing Model Train group.

Roger is survived by his children, Scott Ludwig of Maple Grove, and Kelly Ludwig of Maple Grove; and one brother, Terry Ludwig of Syracuse, NY. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Rosalind on June 19, 2017.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 5, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Lake City Chapel. Followed with burial in Oakwood Cemetery in Lake City with Military Rites.
