A Celebration of Life will be held for Roger J. Rabe on Saturday, December 3, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Lake Pepin Golf Course, 70895 260th Avenue, rural Lake City.

Mr. Rabe, 73, of Elgin, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Mayo Clinic Hospital – Rochester, Saint Marys Campus.

Roger John Rabe was born November 9, 1943 to Carroll and Lorraine (Copp) Rabe in Lake City. He attended rural Wabasha County Schools and graduated from Wabasha High School in 1961. Roger married Edna Judy Moechnig on June 8, 1963 and later divorced; on July 3, 2009 he married Sandra J. Riess in Wabasha.

Roger was employed by IBM in Rochester for 30 years retiring in 1993. He then worked for Nalco Chemical Company for 13 years. Roger lived in Millville from 1966 to 1995 when he moved to Elgin. He enjoyed spending time going fishing and hunting, wood-crafting, and going 4-wheeling.

Roger is survived by his wife, Sandra Riess of Elgin; two daughters, Kim (David Schmidt) Brehmer of Pine Island, and Kirsten (Jason) Ludwig of Elma, IA; a son, Kurt (Amy) Rabe of Plainview; and a step-son, Jarrod (Stacy) Riess of Elgin; six grandchildren, one step-grandson, and one step great-granddaughter; his mother, Lorraine Rabe of Lake City; four sisters, Jean (Don Dondlinger) Springer of Millville, Karen (Jerry) O'Brien of Lake City, Kay (Frank Mercadante) Klein of Popka, FL, and Debra (Kevin) Pahl of Coon Rapids; and one brother, Dan (Val) Rabe of West Concord. He was preceded in death by his father, and one brother, Rodney.
