Sheila Ann Bronk, 79, of Wabasha and formerly of Millville passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Gunderson St. Elizabeth Care Center in Wabasha. She was born August 2, 1943, to Donald and Frances (Heaton) Johnson. Sheila was an only child and grew up in Rochester. She attended Home School Elementary until she was in 4 ^th grade and then went to St. Francis Catholic School through 8 ^th grade. She then attended Lourdes High School graduating in 1961. After graduation she attended Junior College for 1 year and decided it wasn't for her.

Sheila started working in the cafeteria of a hotel in Rochester. During this time, she enjoyed going to dances with her friends. She met her future husband, George Bronk, at one of the dances. George and Sheila were married on May 30, 1963, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Rochester. After marriage they worked on George's family farm, along with growing tomatoes, squash, and melons. They would sell them to different grocery stores in Rochester and had a roadside produce stand that Sheila would take care of. George and Sheila lived in Stockton and started raising their family there. They had three children, George, Dennis, and Ann. They continued to farm with his father and brother, and eventually bought their own 200-acre farm in rural Millville. They raised dairy cows and crop farmed.

Sheila enjoyed dancing and swimming in her younger years. She also enjoyed fishing at their cabin in Wabasha. She belonged to a homemaker's group and was a member of St. Joachim's Catholic Church in Plainview. In her later years she enjoyed watching the birds out her window at the bird feeders or in the aviary at the care center. Her favorite season was summertime and loved the warm beautiful weather.

Sheila is survived by her children, George Bronk of Wabasha, Dennis Bronk and Ann Bronk both of Millville; three grandchildren, Samantha (Mike) Halverson, Jordyn Bronk, and Cody Bronk; and one great-grandchild, Carson Halverson. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

A Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 25, at St. Joachim's Catholic Church in Plainview with Msgr. Tom Melvin officiating. Burial will follow the service in St. Joachim's Catholic Cemetery. Friends and family may visit before the service from 9:30 – 11:00 at the church on Saturday.
