Shirley (Hanson) Allers passed away on December 26, 2020 at St. Crispins Living Community in Red Wing. Shirley was born in Red Wing to Oliver and Anna (Simanski) Hanson on October 8, 1925. She graduated from Red Wing High School in 1943. After graduation she worked for Prudential Insurance in Winona, Minnesota.

Shirley met Alvin Allers while bowling. They married September 16, 1950. Together they owned and operated Allers Construction and Allers Hardware. They retired in 1994. Shirley was also a part-time postal clerk in Goodhue. She retired from the post office in 1989.

Shirley was involved in many civic and church activities at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Goodhue Commercial Club, Goodhue Development Corporation, and the Goodhue School Board. She was an avid bowler, bridge player, and an excellent cook and baker.

Shirley is survived by her children Nancy (Charles) Larsen of Morristown, Karen (Randy) Stein of Red wing, John (Teresa) Allers of Rochester; grandchildren Josh (Melissa) Larsen of Monticello, Molly (Joe) Dee of Montgomery, Danielle (Andy) Lawler of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Emily (Jeff) Wertz of Scottsdale, Arizona; great-grandchildren Mira, Kyla, Beckham Larsen, and Sutton and Blair Lawler; two sister-in-law Bev Allers of Goodhue and Bev Stueber of Austin, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband Alvin in 2014, her parents, her brother Stanley Hanson, and two brothers-in-law Robert (Bud) Allers and John Stueber.

A private family service will be held at a later date. Memorials are preferred to St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Goodhue or the Goodhue Historical Museum.
