Shirley Mae (Polson) Evans, age 75 of Faribault, Minnesota formerly of Plainview, Minnesota, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at the Benedictine Living Community of Owatonna.

Shirley was born on February 21, 1951, in Wabasha, Minnesota, the daughter of Emric and Alberta (McPherson) Polson. She attended school in Plainview and graduated in 1969. She lived with her parents as she was diagnosed with Epilepsy at the age of 7. Shirley worked for Ability Building Center in Rochester after graduation and was always an avid flower gardener and crafter. She greatly enjoyed visiting family and was always willing to do as much as she could despite her seizure disorder. She never complained and was always a grateful, happy person.

Shirley will be missed by her brothers, Thomas Polson of Cedar Falls, IA and Lyle (D’Lynn) Polson of Cordova, South Carolina. She is further survived by her brother-in-law Bob Davis of Manchester, IA, her nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Sharon Davis in 2022.

The Funeral Services will be held for Shirley on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Hilltop Fellowship Church, rural Millville with Reverend Jack Miller officiating. Friends and family may visit one hour prior to the service at the church. The burial will be in the parish cemetery with prayers by Reverend Ken Hanson. Pallbearers will be a nephew and cousins.

Shirley’s family would like to send a sincere appreciation to the staff of Ivy Hill Care Center for their compassionate care as well as to all the others who have cared for Shirley throughout the years.
