Susan "Susie" Puetz, 71, of Plainview, MN passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Saturday morning, August 10, 2013, after a brief illness with cancer at her home in Plainview. Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, August 31st, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joachim's Catholic Cemetery in Plainview, all of her family and friends are invited to attend the graveside service with lunch and fellowship following the service at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Plainview Chapel in Plainview, MN.

Susan Kae Haessig was born February 12, 1942 in Plainview, MN to Delbert and Pearl (Raymond) Haessig. She grew up and attended Plainview Community Schools and lived her entire life time in Plainview. On September 13, 1958 she married Donald Puetz in Plainview.

Susie worked for Mayo Clinic for 20+ years in Rochester, retiring in 2002. She also had been employed for seasonal work at Lakeside Foods in Plainview. Susie was a Day Care Provider for several years, had worked at Heim Carpet in Plainview, she also worked part-time at Hillcrest Care Center in Plainview. She was a former member of St. Joachim's Ladies Guild, and Immanuel Lutheran Church both in Plainview. Susie enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, reading, going fishing and boating, baking, refurbishing furniture and sewing. She especially loved spending time with her family, and going to garage sales with her granddaughter.

Susie is survived by her loving husband, Donald Puetz of Plainview, MN; two daughters, Jamie (Ryan) Groebner of Plainview, MN and Kristy (Mike Miller) Puetz of St. Charles, MN; two sons, Mike (Kathy) Puetz of St. Charles, MN and Steve (Rhonda) Puetz of Rollingstone, MN; five grandchildren and one great-grandson; three sisters, Janice Haessig Madden of Rochester, MN, Karen Bell and Rosemary "Mitzi" (Pete) Johnson both of Phoenix, AZ; and one brother, Robert "Bob" Haessig of Plainview, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and two sisters.

Family prefers memorials to daughter, Kristy Puetz Benefit Fund, Mayo Employees Federal Credit Union, Rochester, MN. Kristy is fighting Stage IV Ovarian Cancer.
