Timothy "Tim" Patrick Greiner, 62, of Plainview, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Mayo Clinic Hospital – Saint Marys Campus in Rochester.

Tim was born September 15, 1953 in Syracuse, NY to William and Joan (Healey) Greiner. He grew up and attended school in North Syracuse and Cicero, NY. Tim served his country in the US Air Force during the Vietnam Era as a SGT E-4 from October 27, 1972 to May 21, 1976. After his military service Tim was a Fireman for the Syracuse and Plattsburgh, NY Fire Departments.

Tim loved the outdoors spending time hunting and fishing. He especially loved to spend time with his two dogs. For the past 10 years Tim has lived in Plainview, where he was a member of the Plainview American Legion.

Tim is survived by his personal longtime companion, Dianne Kappas of Plainview; three sisters, Mary Greiner of San Diego, CA, Ann (Charles) Race of Springfield, VA, and Ellen Stagnone of Tumwater, WA; two brothers, William Greiner of San Dimas, CA, and Michael Greiner of Issaquah, WA. He was preceded in death by his parents

A graveside service will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, with Military Rites.
