The funeral service for Timothy M. Petersen will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 17th, at First Lutheran Church, 100 Peace Ridge in Lake City, MN with Pastor Duane Holst officiating. Visitation from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the Church.
Tim Petersen, 43, of Lake City, MN died early Thursday morning, June 13, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family and menagerie of pets, after his monumental battle with brainstem cancer.
Timothy Michael Petersen was born February 17, 1970 in Minneapolis, to Gary and Nancy (Erlandson) Petersen. He graduated from Armstrong High School in Plymouth, MN, class of 1988. On September 25, 1999 he married Starr Blanchette and they moved to Lake City in December of 2004.
Timothy worked at Red Wing Shoe factory until his retirement due to his health. Timothy was a musician, and played the drums. He found delight in animals of all types, especially watching birds; was a Boy Scout Leader, coached youth soccer, and enjoyed playing paintball. His greatest love was family time with his children.
Timothy is survived by his loving wife, Starr Petersen of Lake City, MN; two children, Elizabeth Petersen and Timothy Petersen, Jr.; his mother, Nancy Petersen of Rochester, MN; brother, Tom (Andrea) Petersen of Rochester, MN; sister, Debbie (John) Trettin of New Hope, MN; step-grandmother, Erna Erlandson of Minneapolis, MN, and step-mothers, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, sister Julie, and grandparents.
