The memorial service for Tracey L. Scherer will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 6, at the Gary R. Feigal, M.D. Interfaith Chapel at the Mayo Clinic Health System – Lake City Care Center, in Lake City, MN. Another memorial service will also be held in Lehighton, PA at a later date.

Mrs. Scherer, 43, of Red Wing, passed away early Saturday morning, January 30, 2016 at the Lake City Care Center in Lake City.

Tracey Lee Steigerwalt was born August 25, 1972 in Lehighton, PA to Edwin and Sherry (Moser) Steigerwalt, Sr. Tracey grew up in Pennsylvania attending elementary school at Lehighton and East Penn Township Schools and graduating from Lehighton Area School in 1990. She married Timothy Scherer on December 24, 1992 in Ashfield, PA.

Tracey lived in Pennsylvania until 1993 when she moved with her husband and family to various states while Tim served in the military. They moved back to Pennsylvania in 1996. Tracey then worked at Small World Day Care. She also served as a Volunteer Fire Fighter for East Penn Township. After Tim retired from the military they moved to Red Wing, Minnesota in 2008.

Tracey is survived by her loving husband, Timothy Scherer of Red Wing, MN; two daughters, Alyssa and Jessica, and a son, David all at home; her mother, Sherry (Barry) Thompson of Lehighton, PA; her father, Edwin (Eileen) Steigerwalt, Sr. of Leighton, PA; one brother, Edwin Steigerwalt, Jr. of Lehighton, PA; four step-sisters, Tracy Thompson, Lisa LeDoux, Kim Brown, and Amy Brown; two step-brothers, Todd Thompson, and Barry Thompson. She was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents.
