Obituary

The funeral service for Wayne "Bill" Gilsdorf will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 28, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in rural Kellogg, with Father William Becker officiating. Burial will follow the service in St. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery, Conception in rural Kellogg.

Mr. Gilsdorf, 79, of Plainview passed away on Friday, April 21, 2017 at Green Prairie Rehabilitation Center in Plainview.

Wayne "Bill" William Gilsdorf was born November 9, 1937 in Millville, to Ray and Hazel (Sommers) Gilsdorf. He grew up in the rural Millville area and attended school at the West Albany School, and Lincoln High School in Lake City. On August 26, 1961 he married Gertrude Wolf at Conception.

Bill started farming in the Conception area in 1965. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, and the Knights of Columbus in Plainview. Bill enjoyed going hunting and fishing. He also loved to cook and garden.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Gert Gilsdorf of Plainview; three sons, Bill (Belinda) Gilsdorf, Tom Gilsdorf, and Gerard "Jerry" Gilsdorf all of Plainview; a daughter, Jane (Gary) Becklund of Millville; nine grandchildren; three sisters, Marjorie (Edward) Heppelmann of Bellechester, Marlene (Bill) Tolzman of St. Paul, and Linda (Gerald) Wolf of Theilman; and two brothers, Richard (Mary Ann) Gilsdorf of Minnesota, and Mark (Dorothy) Gilsdorf of Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, one infant son, and four brothers.

Friends and family may visit from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00p.m. on Friday at the church.
