Obituary

William "Bill" Harold Ogle, 91, of Lake City, Minnesota passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Elysian Senior Care in Lake City. He was born July 24, 1934, in Madelia, Minnesota to George and Theresa (Starkey) Ogle. Bill grew up attending the catholic school in Madelia during his elementary years and graduated from Madelia High School in 1952.

Bill proudly served his country in the US Navy from October 20, 1952, until his honorable discharged on October 20, 1956, in San Diego, California. Bill returned to the upper Midwest, living most of his lifetime in Eastern Wisconsin and Southeast Minnesota. He was a self-employed Real Estate Broker and Appraiser for the past 55years.

In 1980, he married the love of his life Betty Lou Sutherland in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. In 2003 they moved to Lake City.

In his free time Bill enjoyed collecting antiques, especially buggies. He was a member of St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake City, and a lifetime member of the Lake City VFW Post #8729, and the Lake City American Legion Post #110.

Bill is survived by his stepdaughters, Drewe (Larry) Robinson of Saginaw, Michigan, and Dana Romanowski of Byron; and stepson, Darren (Ann) Ruschy of Shell Lake, Wisconsin; eight step-grandchildren, and seven step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Theresa Curry of St. James, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents, six sisters, six brothers, and two infant brothers.

A Memorial Mass will be held for Bill on Friday, June 5, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake City with Father Thé Hoang and Father James Russell officiating. The burial will be on Friday, June 5, at 2:00 p.m. at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery – Preston. Friends and family may visit one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.

Memorials are preferred to St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church, Lake City VFW Post #8729, or Lake City American Legion Post #110.
