Obituary

The funeral service for Wilma A. Freiermuth will be at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 8, at the United Church of Christ in Wabasha with Pastor Jim Clausen officiating. Burial will follow the service in Riverview Cemetery in Wabasha.

Mrs. Freiermuth, 88, of Eagan and formerly of Theilman, passed away at her home on Saturday, October 3, 2015 from natural causes.

Wilma Ann Funke was born March 28, 1927 in Wabasha to Lawrence and Theresa (Harder) Funke. She attended Dumfries Country School and graduated from Wabasha High School in 1945. On August 10, 1950 she married Alva Freiermuth at the Little Brown Church in Nassau, IA.

The Freiermuth's farmed in the rural Theilman area for many years, where they raised their family. In 1986 when they moved to Eagan. Wilma was a member of the Trout Valley Women's Club. She enjoyed playing cards, and traveling.

Wilma is survived by her four children, Janet Nelson – Schaner of Eagan, Nancy (Gary) Campbell of Oronoco, Linda (Mike) Johnson of Eagan, and Bruce (Melanie) Freiermuth of Theilman; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Lorraine Clarkson of Wabasha. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Alva on January 12, 2002, and her brother.

Friends and family may visit from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 7, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Lake City Chapel and one hour prior to the service at the Church on Thursday.
